Harling, Perez, 4×800 Team Winners at NVL Indoor Track Meet

Wilby’s Messiah Harling won the 55-meter championship with a time of 6.67 seconds and finished second in the long jump with a leap of 21-feet, 7-inches Monday at the indoor Naugatuck Valley League championship meet at Hillhouse High School in New Haven.

Harling, a junior, was named the meet’s most outstanding sprinter. His teammate, Chris Perez, a senior, won the high jump with a jump of 6-feet, 2-inches. And the boys’ 4×800 team won the relay race with a time of 2 minutes, 25 seconds. That relay team consists of Mohammad Abdul-Razak, Lian Sanchez, Jason Basant and Almin Cecunjanin.

Overall, the Wilby boys’ team finished fourth.

For the girl’s team, Elisea Austin finished third in the 55-meter race.
